What is the Inward Processing Regime (DİR)?

The Inward Processing Regime (DİR) is a foreign-trade regime that allows inputs — such as raw materials, auxiliary materials and packaging used in export production — to be imported without customs duty. Its aim is to lower the exporter’s input costs and strengthen competitiveness in international markets.

To benefit from the regime, you need an Inward Processing Permit, the imported inputs must be processed and exported, and the commitment given must be closed within its term. Throughout the process, criteria such as the foreign-currency usage ratio must also be monitored.

At İMPEKS we manage the DİR permit application, commitment tracking and closure, and the regulatory processes on your behalf, with deep experience in the textile sector in particular. For details, see our Inward Processing Regime Consulting service.
