ATR vs EUR.1 movement certificates

Two of the most frequently confused documents in foreign trade are the ATR movement certificate and the EUR.1 movement certificate. Both let goods benefit from a preferential arrangement, but their scope differs.

The ATR certifies that industrial products are in free circulation under the customs union between Turkey and the European Union. The EUR.1, on the other hand, proves the preferential origin of goods in trade with EFTA countries and the countries with which Turkey has signed a free-trade agreement, providing a customs-duty advantage.
